‘Minke’ Cabin is a luxury glamping cabin for couples or individuals looking for a sense of isolation, close to nature and in total privacy… whilst still enjoying some luxurious touches and comfort.
The cabin has been hand built, with sheep wool insulation and oak framed double glazed windows and doors. The private cabin overlooks the sea and is thoughtfully designed to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible whatever the weather.

Location
Davaar Island is just 3 miles directly south of Campbeltown on the Mull of Kintyre – one of Scotland’s most secluded spots. The journey to reach the cottages on the island makes a beautiful trip itself – with the Dhorlin (causeway) exposed twice a day at low tide.
On the mainland, we have a designated parking area where guests can leave their car. From here we will transport you and your luggage across the tidal causeway in our dedicated island 4×4.
When you book your stay we will advise on the best crossing times according to the tides.
Guests are also welcome to consult our **Davaar Island Tide Timetable 2026** or the **BBC tide times for Campbeltown**, which give the tide times for the week ahead and can be helpful when planning your journey.
As a general guide, it is usually safe to walk the causeway for approximately three hours either side of low tide.
Please note that we may have other guest arrivals or departures to coordinate, so transfer times will always be confirmed in advance. We ask guests to adhere to the agreed timings to ensure everyone’s safety and a smooth crossing.

Incredible stay from start to finish
An incredible stay from start to finish! It’s such a unique place to stay and the perfect escape. The views are incredible whatever the weather and the walks you can do around the island are stunning. We saw seals and an otter from the balcony and the stars at night were amazing. You feel like you are on your own private island, especially when the causeway is covered by high tide. We also loved the fridge in the pump house with an honesty box! Would love to return.
Such a special place..
It's really a special place.... The view is wonderful and the accommodation is clean and lovingly equipped. We would very much like to come again anytime.

This place is a slice of heaven! We cannot recommend enough. The island is stunning, the cabin is perfect & private, we didn't want to leave!
A refreshing escape from life
Davaar Island was a refreshing escape from life... from it's sunrises to it's wildlife and stars. We will definitely be back.
Wow! What a place
Wow what a place!! Minke cabin was perfect in every way and just what we needed for a relaxing and secluded break. Ned (who is wonderful) picked us up from the mainland and drove us to the island and so we obviously had to adhere to tide times but this was no issue. We enjoyed a walk over to Campbeltown and back too. Walks on the island were beautiful and they even have highland cows and sheep wandering about. Would highly recommend and will be back!!
Absolutely unique
Beautiful, cosy cabin with all mod cons in an absolutely unique location. The island itself and causeway crossing are really special - and the cabin is perfectly situated overlooking the water with lots of opportunities to enjoy the wonderful scenery and wildlife. The cabin had everything I needed, was super warm and comfortable with loads of little luxury touches. The caretaking couple were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgable - really a five star experience, heartily recommend Davaar and the cabins.
